This document describes the features and characteristics of the 24C02C model product from Microchip Technology Inc. The product is a 2K bit Serial Electrically Erasable PROM with a voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V. Its features include a single block of 256 x 8-bit memory, hardware write protection, a 2-wire serial interface, 100 kHz and 400 kHz compatibility, self-timed write cycle, fast 1 mS write cycle, etc.
The 24C02C is a 2‑Kbit (256 × 8) serial EEPROM that operates from a single 4.5 V to 5.5 V supply. It features low power consumption, hardware write‑protect for the upper half of the array, and supports up to eight devices on the same I²C bus.
The device is offered in 8‑pin PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages and is qualified for commercial, industrial and automotive temperature ranges. Detailed electrical characteristics, pin functions, bus timing and write‑cycle procedures are provided in the following sections.
