The IDT7203/7204/7205/7206 are dual-port memory buffers with internal pointers that load and empty data on a first-in/first-out basis. The device uses Full and Empty flags to prevent data overflow and underflow and expansion logic to allow for unlimited expansion capability in both word size and depth. Data is toggled in and out of the device through the use of the Write (W) and Read (R) pins.
The IDT7203, IDT7204, IDT7205 and IDT7206 are dual‑port CMOS asynchronous FIFO memories with 9‑bit word width. They provide first‑in/first‑out data buffering with configurable depth ranging from 2048 to 16384 words and include status flags for empty, half‑full and full conditions.
The datasheet lists electrical characteristics, pin configurations, temperature ranges, and timing parameters for both DC and AC operation, as well as ordering information and compliance with MIL‑STD‑883 Class B.
| Access time | 12 ns (typical) |
|---|---|
| Active power consumption | 770 mW (max) |
| Power‑down consumption | 44 mW (max) |
The IDT7206 provides a depth of 16384 words with a 9‑bit organization.
The devices operate from a 5.0 V supply with a ±10 % tolerance.
The FIFO uses Empty Flag (EF), Full Flag (FF) and Half‑Full Flag (HF) to indicate its state.
Yes, they are compliant with MIL‑STD‑883, Class B.
