MAX7474 is a video equalizer chip designed and manufactured by TI. It has automatic equalization, low frequency and chrominance band loss compensation and other characteristics. It is mainly used in security video systems, video switching systems and home automation.
The MAX7474 adaptive equalizer compensates for loss in composite video (CVBS) signals transmitted over unshielded twisted‑pair cable. It automatically adapts to cable length, fully recovers losses for up to 300 m and improves signal quality up to 600 m, supporting both NTSC and PAL standards.
The device operates from a 4.75 V‑5.25 V supply, is packaged in a 16‑pin SSOP, and includes LOS and LOB logic outputs, an adjustable back‑porch level (1 V‑1.6 V), and a video driver capable of driving two 150 Ω loads.
