The MAX7450/MAX7451/MAX7452 complete front-end video-signal conditioners are designed to improve the quality of standard-definition video signals.
The MAX7450, MAX7451 and MAX7452 are front‑end video‑signal conditioners that restore DC level, correct amplitude errors up to ±6 dB, detect fault conditions and filter out‑of‑band noise. They integrate an input clamp, automatic gain control (AGC), loss‑of‑sync detector and a selectable output gain of 0 dB or +6 dB.
The devices are offered in an 8‑pin SO package, operate over –40 °C to +85 °C, and are intended for standard‑definition video applications such as security video systems and video‑switching matrices. The MAX7450/7451 clamp the back‑porch to ground, while the MAX7452 provides an adjustable back‑porch level via the BPLVL pin.
| Supply voltage (MAX7450) | ±5 V ±5 % |
|---|---|
| Supply voltage (MAX7451) | ±3.3 V ±5 % |
| Supply voltage (MAX7452) | +5 V ±5 % |
| Operating temperature range | -40 °C to +85 °C |
| Output load | 150 Ω |
| Gain settings | 0 dB or +6 dB |
| Back‑porch clamp (MAX7450/7451) | Ground |
| Back‑porch clamp (MAX7452) | Adjustable via BPLVL pin |
| Noise‑filter cutoff frequency | 10 MHz |
The MAX7452 operates from a single +5 V supply.
AGC automatically adjusts the gain so that the sync amplitude is normalized to a standard video level.
When GSET = 1, the output can swing up to 2 V peak‑to‑peak.
