About this manual

The Am28F256 is a 256‑kilobit (32 K × 8‑bit) CMOS flash memory offered in 32‑pin PDIP, PLCC and TSOP packages. It provides fast 70 ns maximum access time, low active current (30 mA) and ultra‑low standby current (100 pA). The device can be programmed and erased in‑system using a 12.0 V ±5% high‑voltage input and supports a minimum of 10 000 write/erase cycles.

The memory uses a command‑register architecture compatible with standard JEDEC 32‑pin pinouts. Latch‑up protection up to 100 mA from –1 V to VGG + 1 V and various write‑inhibit features protect against accidental programming. Temperature ranges cover commercial (0 °C to +70 °C) and industrial (–40 °C to +85 °C) grades.
