This document describes the features and characteristics of the modular, real-time emulator system for all PICs produced by RF Solutions Ltd, including full-speed real-time emulation, support for all PIC devices, source-level debug in assembler or C, hardware real-time trace buffer, and more.
The ICEPIC2 is a modular, real‑time emulator system that works with every PIC microcontroller family (120XX, 16C5X, 16CXX, 17CXX). It runs under Windows NT, 98, 95 and 3.11 and provides a single, consistent interface for all devices. The system includes an emulation chip, power supply, RS‑232 cable and full documentation.
Key features include selectable processor speeds via an oscillator module, unlimited breakpoints, source‑level debugging in assembler or C, an 8 KB circular real‑time trace buffer, and unlimited hardware trigger outputs. The ICEPIC2 also offers full‑speed real‑time emulation up to 33 MHz, IDE support for MPLAB, and a Windows‑based user interface.
