The MRC series is IRC's thick film power resistor series, which has high power density and superior surge handling capability. The series resistors are rated at 1/2 watt and 1 watt, with a resistance range of 0.05 ohms to 1 ohm, and a maximum operating temperature of 150°C.
The MRC Series metal‑glaze high‑power density surface‑mount resistors are offered in two power ratings: 1/2 W in a 1206 (1/8 W) footprint and 1 W in a 2010 footprint. They feature a high‑temperature dielectric coating, 60/40 solder over a nickel barrier, and a maximum operating temperature of 150 °C.
Designed for applications where board space is limited, the resistors provide excellent surge handling and meet MIL‑R‑55342E specifications for temperature coefficient, thermal shock, moisture resistance, and solderability. Various packaging options (bulk, 7" reel, 13" reel) and tolerance codes (C = 0.25 %, D = 0.5 %, F = 1.0 %, G = 2.0 %, J = 5.0 %) are available.
