M5450 M5451 LED display drivers have 34 outputs/15mA sink, current generator outputs (no external resistors required), continuous brightness control, serial data input, enable (on M5450) and wide supply voltage operation. Suitable for microprocessor displays, industrial control indicators, relay drivers and instrumentation readouts.
The M5450 and M5451 are monolithic MOS integrated circuits designed for driving 4‑ or 5‑digit alphanumeric LED displays. Each device provides a large number of LED outputs (34 for M5450, 35 for M5451) with a 15 mA sink per channel, continuous brightness control via a variable resistor, and a serial data interface that requires only data and clock signals.
Typical applications include microprocessor‑driven displays, industrial control indicators, relay drivers and instrumentation readouts. The devices operate over a wide supply voltage range (4.75 V–13.2 V) and can dissipate up to 1 W at 25 °C, with an operating temperature range of –25 °C to 85 °C.
