About this manual

The LM4040 series provides 2‑pin fixed‑output shunt voltage references that require no external capacitors and remain stable with all capacitive loads. It offers low dynamic impedance, low output noise, and tight output tolerances ranging from 0.1 % (A grade) to 1 % (D grade). Fixed output voltages include 2.048 V, 2.5 V, 3 V, 4.096 V, 5 V, and 10 V.

The devices are available in SC‑70, SOT‑23‑3, and TO‑92/TO‑226 packages, with a minimum cathode current of 45 pA. Temperature operation spans –40 °C to 85 °C for standard grades and –40 °C to 125 °C for the LM4040xQ grade. Ordering information, mechanical drawings, and absolute maximum ratings are detailed throughout the sheet.
