About this manual

The TC7109/A is a 12‑bit plus‑sign, low‑power analog‑to‑digital converter that requires only eight passive components and a crystal for a complete dual‑slope integrating ADC. It offers true differential signal and reference inputs, low input noise (15 µV p‑p typ.) and ultra‑low input bias current (1 pA typ.), making it suitable for bridge‑type transducers such as load cells and thermocouples.

The device provides both Direct parallel bus mode and UART Handshake mode for data output, and includes a comprehensive pin‑out with 40 pins in the PDIP package. Electrical specifications cover supply voltage ranges (+6.2 V / –9 V), supply current (≈700 µA typ.), and output voltage levels (3.5 V high, 0.2 V low). Handling precautions emphasize antistatic measures and proper power‑on sequencing to avoid latch‑up.
