This document describes Microchip Technology's PIC18F2423/2523/4423/4523 series 28/40/44-pin enhanced Flash microcontrollers with 12-bit A/D conversion and nanoWatt technology.
The PIC18F2423/2523/4423/4523 family are 28‑, 40‑, and 44‑pin enhanced‑flash microcontrollers featuring a 12‑bit ADC, up to 13 analog channels, dual comparators, high‑current I/O, and multiple communication modules such as MSSP and EUSART. They support a wide range of operating voltages (2.0 V‑5.5 V) and include power‑managed modes for low‑power applications.
The datasheet includes device overviews, oscillator configuration options, power‑managed mode descriptions, memory organization, peripheral modules (timers, PWM, ADC, comparators, UART, SPI/I²C), electrical characteristics, packaging information, and migration guides. Pin diagrams for PDIP, SOIC, QFN, and TQFP packages are also provided.
| Operating voltage range | 2.0 V to 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Maximum I/O sink/source current | 25 mA |
| Idle mode current | down to 5.8 µA (typical) |
| Sleep mode current | down to 0.1 pA (typical) |
| ADC channels | up to 13 channels |
The ADC module offers up to 13 analog input channels.
Microchip states that code protection does not guarantee the product is unbreakable and makes no warranty for it.
Each I/O pin can sink or source up to 25 mA.
