This document introduces the features and characteristics of Microchip Technology Inc.'s high-performance RISC CPU products, including C-compiler optimized architecture instruction set, linear program memory addressing up to 32 Kbytes, linear data memory addressing up to 4 Kbytes, and up to 10 MIPS operation speed. In addition, the document also describes the peripheral features of the product, such as high current sink/source, multiple I/O ports with individual direction control, external interrupt pins, timer modules, capture/compare/PWM (CCP) modules, etc. It also includes advanced analog features such as a 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter module, addressable USART module, and Master Synchronous Serial Port (MSSP).
The PIC18CXX8 family provides high‑performance 8‑bit RISC CPUs with up to 10 MIPS operation, up to 32 KB program memory and 4 KB data memory. Integrated peripherals include CAN bus, multiple timers, CCP modules, MSSP (SPI/I²C), USART, ADC, comparators, and a hardware multiplier.
The devices operate from 2.5 V to 5.5 V, feature low‑power sleep mode, watchdog timer, brown‑out detection, and extensive I/O options (up to 76 pins). The datasheet includes electrical characteristics, packaging information, and development support details.
