The MAX6653, MAX6663 and MAX6664 are ACPI‑compatible local and remote‑junction temperature sensors with integrated fan control. They measure their own die temperature and a remote‑diode temperature, providing programmable set‑points that trigger INT, THERM, SDR and SDL outputs for system protection and fan speed control.
Communication is via a standard SMBus 2‑wire interface, with configurable address pins and multiple SMBus protocols. The devices are supplied in a 16‑pin QSOP package and operate over a wide temperature range, making them suitable for PCs, servers, telecom and industrial control applications.
| Operating Supply Voltage Range | 3.0 V to 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Temperature Measurement Resolution | 0.125 °C |
| Remote Temperature Accuracy | ±1 °C (60 °C to 100 °C) |
| Operating Temperature Range | -40 °C to +125 °C |
| Package Type | 16‑pin QSOP |
| Number of Comparison Set Points | Two local, two remote |
| Shutdown Outputs (MAX6653 only) | SDR and SDL pins |
Both local and remote temperature measurements have a resolution of 0.125 °C.
Each device provides two comparison set‑points for local temperature and two for remote temperature.
The devices operate from 3.0 V to 5.5 V supply voltage.
The SDR and SDL pins are active‑low shutdown outputs on the MAX6653.
