The 3M 891 Series 95 Preassembled Wiremount Socket is a pre-assembled terminal that terminates faster than two-piece sockets. It features “Sword” packaging for easy loading of manual and semi-automatic assembly equipment. Bumps prevent premature latch locking during shipping. An optional double-sided adhesive pull tab provides easy unplugging. Double-recessed cover for cable terminating from either side eliminates the need for single-recessed cover connectors.
The 891 Series preassembled wiremount socket provides a compact .100" x .100" contact size with a .050" pitch cable option and optional plastic strain relief. Its glass‑filled polyester (PBT) insulation meets UL‑94V‑0 flammability standards, while the phosphor bronze contacts are plated with either 100 µm nickel or 30 µm gold per industry specifications.
Designed for reliable electrical performance, the socket is rated for 1 A continuous current, >1 × 10⁹ Ω insulation resistance at 500 Vdc, and can withstand 1000 Vrms at sea level.
