The ADuC836 MicroConverter® is a high-resolution, low-power 16-bit microcontroller that integrates two 16-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), 62 kB flash, and a 32 kHz external crystal. The microcontroller is based on the 8051 core, and is compatible with the 8051 instruction set. It features three 16-bit timers/counters, 26 programmable I/O pins, 11 interrupt sources, and two priority levels.
The ADuC836 MicroConverter® integrates two high‑resolution 16‑bit ADCs, an 8051‑compatible MCU, 62 KB of flash program memory, 4 KB of data memory and a range of analog and digital peripherals on a single chip. It is targeted at intelligent sensor, weigh‑scale, portable instrumentation and data‑logging applications.
The device operates from either a 3 V or 5 V supply, offers up to 26 programmable I/O lines, three 16‑bit timers, UART, SPI, I²C, DACs, temperature sensor and on‑chip power‑monitoring features, making it a complete smart‑transducer front end.
