This document describes the functions and features of X9118, a single channel digitally controlled potentiometer, which can be used in a variety of applications including control, parameter adjustments and signal processing.
The X9118 integrates a single digitally‑controlled potentiometer (XDCP) on a CMOS IC, providing 1024 resistor taps for 10‑bit resolution. It can operate as a three‑terminal potentiometer or a two‑terminal variable resistor and is controlled via a 2‑wire serial bus that supports read, write and transfer operations.
The device supports dual supply operation (2.7 V‑5.5 V system voltage and –5 V to +5 V analog supplies), offers low standby current (< 3 µA), and includes non‑volatile data registers for storing multiple wiper positions. It is offered in a 14‑lead thin‑shrink small‑outline plastic (TSSOP) package.
| Resistor taps | 1024 (10‑bit resolution) |
|---|---|
| System supply voltage range | 2.7 V to 5.5 V |
| Analog supply voltage range | -5 V to +5 V |
| Standby current | < 3 µA max |
| Data retention | 100 years |
| Package type | 14‑lead TSSOP |
It uses a 2‑wire serial interface for write, read and transfer operations.
The X9118 provides 1024 resistor taps, giving 10‑bit resolution.
The standby current is less than 3 µA (max).
It is offered in a 14‑lead thin‑shrink small‑outline plastic (TSSOP) package.
