ADL5243 is a high performance digitally controlled VGA. It supports serial and parallel interfaces, has a 6-bit 0.5dB digital step attenuator, a 31.5dB gain control range, and ±0.25dB step accuracy.
The ADL5243 is a digitally‑controlled variable gain amplifier (VGA) covering 100 MHz to 4000 MHz. It integrates two amplifiers—a gain‑block amplifier and a ¼ W driver—and a 6‑bit digital step attenuator (DSA) offering 31.5 dB of gain control in 0.5 dB steps. Control is available via serial or parallel interfaces, and the device can be configured to use any combination of the internal blocks for flexible signal‑chain design.
The VGA operates from a single 5 V supply (4.75 V‑5.25 V) with a low quiescent current of 175 mA. It is supplied in a 5 mm × 5 mm 32‑lead LFCSP package and is rated for –40 °C to +85 °C operation. An evaluation board and detailed layout recommendations are provided in the data sheet.
