This document introduces the NXP PNX953x automotive A/V reference design, which provides high performance and versatility so you can quickly create innovative audio/video systems.
The NXP PNX953x reference design provides a flexible platform for creating automotive entertainment systems that can play video, music and images from a variety of storage media such as USB sticks, SD cards, HDDs and DVDs. It supports multi‑zone playback, dual‑zone video, and a range of video standards (MPEG‑1/2/4, H.264, VC‑1) as well as audio codecs (MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, etc.).
A complete hardware and software reference kit – the MuViFlex Reference Kit – is offered, including a PNX9530 board, storage devices, Wi‑Fi module, LCD panel, and development tools. The document lists detailed specifications, connectivity options, and example use cases such as digital TV, bird‑view parking assistance, and media streaming via DLNA.
