Introduction to service and commissioning of Siemens ACS 1000 and ACS 6000 medium voltage drives
The G720 course provides service and commissioning engineers with the knowledge and hands‑on practice needed to work safely with ABB ACS 1000 and ACS 6000 medium‑voltage drives. Participants learn drive system topology, basic commissioning, maintenance, fault‑tracing, and how to use the MV Drive Portal database.
The curriculum combines e‑learning modules (G711e, G761e) with classroom sessions that cover hardware description, protection concepts, software compatibility, drive programming, and practical exercises such as component recognition, motor tuning, and cold commissioning procedures.
| Air‑cooled drive model | ACS 1000 |
|---|---|
| Water‑cooled drive model | ACS 1000 |
| Drive variant | ACS 1000i |
| Drive model | ACS 6000 |
Participants need good engineering knowledge of AC drives and motors, personal computer skills, and a laptop equipped with DriveDebug, DriveWindow, and a fiber‑optic programming tool.
The classroom training includes MV database instruction, software compatibility and downloading sequence, use of software tools, fault‑tracing, and short customer training after commissioning.
