About this manual

The Daqing Petrochemical Plastic Factory faced low productivity because a 20‑year‑old motor could only run at two fixed speeds, limiting the mixer’s performance and causing poor product quality. ABB supplied an ACS 1000 medium‑voltage AC drive with an input isolation transformer to replace the two‑speed limitation.

With the ACS 1000 installed, the motor speed became continuously variable (500‑1000 rpm), reducing noise, cutting energy use by about 30 %, and allowing fast commissioning in three days. The drive’s three‑pulse design and sine filter eliminated harmonics, enabling the existing motor to operate without derating and improving overall reliability.
