This document introduces ABB's ACS 1000 variable speed drive in the application of electrical submersible pump (ESP). It can optimize the operation of ESP by controlling the ESP operating point (speed), reduce operation costs, maximize production and revenue
The ACS 1000 variable speed drive is designed to optimise the operation of electrical submersible pumps (ESPs) on offshore oil platforms. It enables controlled start‑up and speed adjustment to match changing well conditions, reducing ESP change‑outs and maximising production.
Key benefits include reduced operating costs, minimised production loss during workovers, and the ability to meet tight delivery schedules. The drive incorporates ESP‑specific hardware and enhanced software for protection and control, and can be integrated with motor/pump information systems.
