The Z68 Extreme7 Gen3 supports Windows 7/7 64‑bit, Vista/ Vista 64‑bit, and Windows XP/XP 64‑bit.
Use the UEFI BIOS, set SATA mode to AHCI, boot the installer in UEFI mode, and install Windows 7 64‑bit or Vista 64‑bit; the installer will format the drive with GPT.
The board provides a total of six SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors—two from the Intel Z68 controller and four from the ASMedia ASM1061 controller.
