Siemens CU240S Error F00453: Motor Stalled

Siemens CU240S · taken from the manufacturer’s manual, pages cited

Fault codeF00453

Motor Stalled occurs due to rapid ramp rates in SLVC/VC mode, running onto a spinning motor without flying start enabled, or excessive load at very low frequency. The manual's first action is: “Quit fault eg. via D12”

What F00453 means

Motor Stalled p. 391

Common causes

  • In SLVC or VC (p1300 greater than 20) and Ramp rate too fast p. 391
  • In SLVC or VC (p1300 greater than 20) and done OFF2 and RUN onto a spinning motor without Flying start enabled p. 391
  • In SLVC or VC (p1300 = 20 or 21) and load too large at very low frequency p. 391
  • In SLVC or VC (p1300 greater than 20) and no motor connected or motor too small for inverter p. 391
  • In VC, the motor cable phase sequence (U-V-W) and the encoder cable wiring may be wired up incorrectly. p. 391
  • The speed controller settings are not optimised to the application. This can cause instabilities. p. 391
  • Reduce ramp rate in p1120 p. 391
  • Enable flying start (p1300 equal to 1) p. 391
  • Increase boost in p1611 p. 391
  • Connect motor or use larger motor for this inverter or use VF mode (p1300 less than 20). p. 391
  • Correct the wiring to the motor and / or the encoder as required. Confirm the rotation direction in V/f control mode and compare parameters r0061 and r0021. p. 391
  • Optimise the speed controller settings (gain and integration time). p. 391

What to do

  1. Quit fault eg. via D12 p. 391
