Encoder feedback loss warning occurs when encoder signal is lost and inverter may switch to sensorless vector control, with specific conditions for configuration errors. The manual's first action is: “Check also alarm value r0947.”

- Siemens CU240S
- Display shows
- Encoder feedback loss warning (A00590)
- Type
- Fault code

- Manual p. 394
What A00590 means
Encoder feedback loss warning p. 394
Common causes
- Signal from Encoder lost; Inverter might have switched to sensorless vector control. p. 394
- r0949 = 0: Encoder signal lost. p. 394
- r0949 = 5: Encoder not configured in P0400, but required for sensed control (P1300 = 21 or 23). p. 394
What to do
- Check also alarm value r0947. p. 394
- Stop inverter and then • Check encoder fitted. If encoder fitted and r0949 = 5, select encoder type via P0400. • If encoder fitted and r0949 = 8, check connections between encoder module and inverter. • If encoder not fitted and r0949 = 5, select SLVC mode (P1300 = 20 or 22). • If encoder not fitted and r0949 = 8, set P0400 = 0. • If encoder fitted, check correct encoder selected (check encoder setup in P0400). • Check connections between encoder and inverter. • Check that encoder not faulty (select P1300 = 0, run at fixed speed, check encoder feedback signal in r0061). • Increase encoder loss threshold in P0492. p. 394
