The MAX127/MAX128 are multirange, 12-bit data acquisition systems (DAS) that require only a single +5V supply for operation, yet accept signals at their analog inputs that may span above the power-supply rail and below ground. These systems provide eight analog input channels that are independently software programmable for a variety of ranges: ±10V, ±5V, 0 to +10V, 0 to +5V for the MAX127; and ±VREF, ±VREF/2, 0 to +VREF, 0 to +VREF/2 for the MAX128. This range switching increases the effective dynamic range to 14 bits and provides the flexibility to interface 4–20mA, ±12V, and ±15V-powered sensors directly to a single +5V system. In addition, these converters are fault pro- tected to ±16.5V; a fault condition on any channel will not affect the conversion result of the selected channel. Other features include a 5MHz bandwidth track/hold, an 8ksps throughput rate, and the option of an internal 4.096V or external reference. The MAX127/MAX128 feature a 2-wire, I2C-compatible serial interface that allows communication among multi- ple devices using SDA and SCL lines. A hardware shutdown input (SHDN) and two software- programmable power-down modes (standby and full power-down) are provided for low-current shutdown between conversions. In standby mode, the reference- buffer remains active, eliminating start-up delays. The MAX127/MAX128 are available in 24-pin DIP or space-saving 28-pin SSOP packages.

The QT1100A-ISG is an advanced 10-key QTOUCH™ sensor IC suitable for applications such as appliance controls, pointing devices, gaming machines, PC peripherals, television controls, and instrument panels. This device allows each electrode to project an independent sense field through glass or plastic. It is designed specifically for human interfaces, such as control panels, appliances, gaming devices, lighting controls, or anywhere a mechanical switch may be found. Each key channel operates independently and can be tuned to a unique sensitivity level by changing setup values in an EEPROM or via a serial interface. It includes patent pending AKS™ Adjacent Key Suppression, which suppresses touch from weakly responding keys and allows only a dominant key to detect, solving the problem of large fingers on tightly spaced keys. Modulated burst technology provides superior noise rejection. 'Fast-DI' operation works to further suppress false activations due to noise. These devices also have a Sync pin to suppress some forms of external interference.

The THS415x is a family of high performance fully differential input/differential output devices fabricated using Texas Instruments' state-of-the-art BiComI complementary bipolar process. The THS415x is made of a true fully-differential signal path from input to output. This design leads to high performance and wide power supply range, which offers significant advantages in many applications.

This document describes the features and functional overview of the CY7C63000A/CY7C63001A and CY7C63100A/CY7C63101A Universal Serial Bus microcontrollers from Cypress Semiconductor Corporation.

The PC16552D is a dual version of the PC16550D Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter (UART). The two serial channels are completely independent except for a common CPU interface and crystal input. On power-up, both channels are initially identical to the 16450. Each channel can operate with on-chip transmitter and receiver FIFOs (FIFO mode) to relieve the CPU of excessive software overhead. In FIFO mode, each channel can buffer 16 bytes (plus 3 bits of error data per byte in the RCVR FIFO) of data in both the transmitter and receiver. All the FIFO control logic is on-chip to minimize system overhead and maximize system efficiency. Signalling for DMA transfers is done through two pins per channel (TXRDY and RXRDY). The RXRDY function is multiplexed on one pin with the OUT 2 and BAUDOUT functions. The CPU can select these functions through a new register (Alternate Function Register). Each channel performs serial-to-parallel conversion on data characters received from a peripheral device or a MODEM, and parallel-to-serial conversion on data characters received from the CPU. The CPU can read the complete status of each channel at any time. Status information reported includes the type and condition of the transfer operations being performed by the DUART, as well as any errors.

The MAX9675 is a nonblocking 16 x 16 video crosspoint switch with buffered inputs and outputs. The device operates on ±5V analog supplies. Digital logic is supplied separately from an independent +2.7V to +5V supply. The MAX9675 inputs and outputs are buffered with all outputs able to drive a standard 75Ω reverse-terminated video load. The switching matrix and programmable gain are controlled through an SPI™/QSPI™-compatible 3-wire serial interface. The serial interface is designed to operate in either of two modes to provide fast updates and initialization. All outputs are held in the disabled state during power-up to avoid signal conflicts in large switching arrays. The programmability and high level of integration make the MAX9675 an ideal choice for nonblocking video switch arrays.

The LM3200 is a miniature, adjustable, step-down DC-DC converter with bypass mode for RF power amplifiers

MAX3420E is a microprocessor-independent USB solution from Microchip that complies with USB Specification Revision 2.0 (Full-Speed Operation) and integrates a full-speed USB transceiver with ±15kV ESD protection and programmable USB connect and disconnect functionality.

The MAX1762/MAX1791 PWM step-down controllers provide high efficiency, excellent transient response, and high DC output accuracy needed for stepping down high-voltage batteries to generate low-voltage CPU core, I/O, and chipset RAM supplies in notebook computers and PDAs. Maxim's proprietary Quick-PWM™ pulse-width modulator is a free-running constant on-time type with input feed-forward. Its high operating frequency (300kHz) allows small external components to be utilized in PC board area-critical applications such as subnotebook computers and smart phones. PWM operation occurs at heavy loads, and automatic switchover to pulse-skip- ping operation occurs at lighter loads. The external high-side p-channel and low-side n-channel MOSFETs require no bootstrap components. The MAX1762/ MAX1791 are simple, easy to compensate, and do not have the noise sensitivity of conventional fixed-frequen- cy current-mode PWMs. These devices achieve high efficiency at a reduced cost by eliminating the current-sense resistor found in traditional current-mode PWMs. Efficiency is further enhanced by their ability to drive synchronous-rectifier MOSFETs. The MAX1762/MAX1791 come in a 10-pin µMAX package and offer two fixed voltages (Dual Mode™) for each device, 1.8V/2.5V/adj (MAX1762) and 3.3V/5.0V/adj (MAX1791).

The TFBS6711 is a low power IR transceiver from Vishay Semiconductors that supports data transmission rates from 9.6 kbit/s to 4 Mbit/s with a typical link distance of 50 cm. It also enables mobile phones and PDAs to function as universal remote controls for televisions, DVDs and other home appliances.
