This manual introduces the various parts and working principles of Celestron's 4010, 4020 and 4030 microscope models, as well as safety precautions that need to be taken when using these microscopes.
This document provides instruction manuals for three specific models of Celestron microscopes: the Junior Model #4010, the Junior Dissecting Model #4020, and the Educational Model #4030. It details standard accessories included with each unit and outlines specifications such as eyepiece magnification, objective lenses, stage dimensions, and focuser types.
| Eyepiece (Model 4010) | 10x; 18mm |
|---|---|
| Objective Lens (Model 4010) | Achromatic Objective 20x |
| Focuser Travel (Model 4010) | 30mm travel with focus stop |
| Illuminator (Model 4020) | None (uses external light) |
| Stage Plate (Model 4020) | 60mm black/white stage plate |
| Objective Lens (Model 4020) | 4x; Working Distance 58mm |
| Stage Dimensions (Model 4030) | 120mm x 110mm, with paired clips |

Tilt the illumination mirror and reflect indirect sunlight through the bottom of the specimen stage, or use a nearby lamp for indoor viewing.
The maximum magnification is 200x, achieved by combining the 10x eyepiece with the 20x objective lens.
Unthread the focus travel safety screw about 2/3 of the way, lower the objective lens slightly above the slide, and then thread the screw upward until it stops against the mechanism.
