This datasheet introduces the features and characteristics of the Analog Devices ADM101E RS-232 transceiver.

Both products are suitable for operation in harsh electrical environments and are compliant with the EU directive on EMC (89/336/EEC). Both the level of electromagnetic emissions and immunity are in compliance with EN55022

ADM222/ADM232A/ADM242 are a family of high-speed RS-232 line drivers/receivers with a transmission rate of 200 kB/s, small (0.1uF) charge pump capacitors, single 5V power supply, compliance with all EIA-232-E and V.28 specifications, two drivers and two receivers, and on-board DC-DC converters.

ADM206–ADM211/ADM213 is a 0.1 µF, 5 V powered CMOS RS-232 driver/receiver provided by Analog Devices. It features 0.1 µF to 10 µF capacitors, 120 kB/s data rate, two receivers active in shutdown (ADM213), on-board dc-to-dc converters, ±9 V output swing with 5 V supply, low power (15 mW), low power shutdown (≤ 5 µW), ±30 V receiver input levels, latch-up free, and is a plug-in upgrade for MAX205-211/213.

ADM231L–ADM234L/ADM236L–ADM241L is a 5V-powered CMOS RS-232 driver/receiver. It meets the EIA-232-E and V.28 specifications, has a data rate of 120 kbps, provides ±9V output swing with a 5V supply, features low power shutdown mode, and has ±30V receiver input levels.

The ADM202/ADM203 is a two-channel RS-232 line driver/receiver pair designed to operate from a single 5V power supply. It features an internal +10V to -10V voltage inverter and a +5V to +10V voltage doubler.

The ADM3101E is a high speed, single-channel, RS-232/ITU-T V.28 transceiver interface device that operates from a single 3.3V supply. It has a maximum data rate of 460kbps and meets the EIA/TIA-232E specifications. It also has ±8kV contact discharge and ±15kV air gap ESD protection.

ADM560/ADM561 is an ultralow power +3.3 V RS-232 notebook PC serial port driver/receiver. It features RS-232 compatibility, operates with 3 V or 5 V logic, ultralow power CMOS technology, and is suitable for serial port mice.

The ADM3307E/ADM3310E/ADM3311E/ADM3312E/ADM3315E are 2.7V to 3.6V serial port transceivers with Green Idle™ power-saving mode, reducing power consumption. This series of devices adopt single power supply, operate with 3V logic, have low EMI, low power shutdown (20 nA), full RS-232 compliance and 460kb/s data rate. In addition, they also have ESD >15 kV IEC 1000-4-2 on RS-232 I/O and ESD >15 kV IEC 1000-4-2 on CMOS and RS-232 I/O. These products are suitable for mobile phone handsets/data cables, laptop and notebook computers, printers, peripherals, modems, PDAs/Hand-Held Devices/Palmtop Computers, etc.

ADM3251E is an isolated single-channel RS-232 line driver/receiver from Analog Devices. It supports a maximum voltage of 2.5 kV and a data transfer rate of 460 kbps.
