MAXIM MAX13170E Manual
MAX13170E is a three-driver/three-receiver multiprotocol transceiver that operates from a +5V single supply. MAX13170E, along with MAX13172E and MAX13174E, form a complete software-selectable data terminal equipment (DTE) or data communication equipment (DCE) interface port that supports the V.28 (RS-232), V.10/V.11 (RS-449/V.36, EIA-530, EIA-530A, X.21), and V.35 protocols. The MAX13170E transceivers carry the high-speed clock and data signals, while the MAX13172E carry the control signals. The MAX13170E can be terminated by the MAX13174E software-selectable resistor termination network or by discrete termination networks. The MAX13170E has an internal charge pump and a proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage that allows V.11-, V.28-, and V.35-compliant operation from a +5V single supply. The MAX13170E features a no-cable mode that reduces supply current to 0.5µA, and disables all (high-impedance) transmitter and receiver outputs. Short-circuit current limiting and thermal shutdown circuitry protect the receiver and transmitter outputs against excessive power dissipation. The MAX13170E has extended ESD protection for all the transmitter outputs and receivers inputs. The MAX13170E is available in a 5.3mm x 10.2mm, 28-pin SSOP package and operates over the 0°C to +70°C commercial temperature range.

It supports high port count IO-Link master applications through in-band SPI addressing. The device supports all IO-Link data rates and features slew-rate-controlled drivers to reduce EMI. The driver is guaranteed to drive up to 300mA load currents. The MAX14824 is available in a 4mm x 4mm, 24-pin TQFN package with exposed pad, and operates over the extended -40NC to +105NC temperature range.
MAXIM MAX14820 handbook
The MAX14820 is an ideal choice for IO-Link® devices and 24V binary sensors/actuators, supporting all specified IO-Link data rates. In IO-Link applications, the transceiver acts as the physical layer interface to a microcontroller running the data-link layer protocol. Additional 24V digital inputs and outputs are provided. Two internal linear regulators generate common sensor and actuator power requirements: 5V and 3.3V. On-board C/Q and DO drivers are independently configurable for push-pull, high-side (PNP), or low-side (NPN) operation. The device detects the IO-Link C/Q wake-up condition and generates a wake-up signal on the active-low WU output. The C/Q and DI inputs have selectable current loads for use in actuators. An SPI™ interface allows configuration and monitoring of the devices. Extensive alarm conditions are detected and communicated through the IRQ output and the SPI inter- face. The devices feature reverse-polarity, short-circuit, and thermal protection. All power lines are monitored for undervoltage conditions. The C/Q driver is specified for sinking/sourcing 300mA. The DO driver is specified for sinking/sourcing 135mA. The device is available in a 4mm x 4mm, 24-pin TQFN package, and is specified over the extended -40NC to +85NC temperature range. Applications include IO-Link sensors, industrial control, and robotics.
MAXIM MAX3053 Manual
The MAX3053 is a ±80V fault-protected CAN transceiver designed for industrial systems that require data rates up to 2Mbps. It features differential transmit and receive capability and provides ±80V fault protection against shorts to high-voltage power buses. The device has three different modes of operation: high-speed, slope control, and shutdown. It also has an autoshutdown function that puts the device in a low-current mode when the bus or CAN controller is inactive for 47ms or greater.
MAXIM MAX3054/3055/3056 Manual
The MAX3054/MAX3055/MAX3056 are interfaces between the protocol controller and the physical wires of the bus lines in a controller area network (CAN). The devices provide differential transmit capability and switch to single-wire mode if certain fault conditions occur. The MAX3054/MAX3055/MAX3056 guarantee full wake-up capability during failure modes. The extended fault-protected voltage range of CANH and CANL bus lines of ±80V allows for use in 42V automotive applications. Current-limiting and thermal- protection circuits protect the transmitter output stage against overcurrent faults to prevent destruction of the transmitter output stage. The CANH and CANL lines are also protected against electrical transients that may occur in an automotive environment. The transceiver provides three low-power modes that can be entered and exited through pins STB and EN. An output INH pin can be used for deactivation of an external voltage regulator. The MAX3054/MAX3055/MAX3056 are designed to pro- vide optimal operation for a specified data rate. The MAX3054 is ideal for high data rates of 250kbps. The MAX3055 is used for data rates of 125kbps and the MAX3056 is designed for 40kbps applications. For the 40kbps and 125kbps versions, a built-in slope-control feature allows the use of unshielded cables, and receiv- er input filters guarantee high noise immunity. MAXIM MAX3051 Manual
The MAX3051 interfaces between the CAN protocol controller and the physical wires of the bus lines in a controller area network (CAN). The MAX3051 provides differential transmit capability to the bus and differential receive capability to the CAN controller. The MAX3051 is primarily intended for +3.3V single-supply applications that do not require the stringent fault protection specified by the automotive industry (ISO 11898). The MAX3051 features four different modes of operation: high-speed, slope-control, standby, and shutdown mode. High-speed mode allows data rates up to 1Mbps. The slope-control mode can be used to program the slew rate of the transmitter for data rates of up to 500kbps. This reduces the effects of EMI, thus allowing the use of unshielded twisted or parallel cable. In standby mode, the transmitter is shut off and the receiver is pulled high, placing the MAX3051 in low-current mode. In shutdown mode, the transmitter and receiver are switched off. The MAX3051 input common-mode range is from -7V to +12V, exceeding the ISO 11898 specification of -2V to +7V. These features, and the programmable slew-rate limiting, make the part ideal for nonautomotive, harsh environments.
MAXIM MAX13051 Manual
The MAX13051 ±80V fault-protected CAN transceiver with autobaud is ideal for device net and other industrial network applications where overvoltage protection is required. The MAX13051 provides a link between the CAN protocol controller and the physical wires of the bus lines in a control area network (CAN). The MAX13051 features three different modes of operation: high speed, slope control, and standby. High-speed mode allows data rates up to 1Mbps. The slope-control mode can be used to program the slew rate of the transmitter for data rates of up to 500kbps, reducing the effects of EMI and allowing the use of unshielded-twisted or parallel cable. In standby mode, the transmitter shuts off and a low-power receiver monitors the bus, waiting for a wake-up signal. The MAX13051 provides a transmitter data (TXD) dominant timeout function that prevents erroneous CAN controllers from clamping the bus to a dominant level if the TXD input is held low for greater than 1ms. The MAX13051 also provides an autobaud feature allowing the microcontroller to compute the incoming baud rate without destroying CAN protocol communication. The MAX13051 input common-mode range is greater than ±12V, exceeding the ISO 11898 specification of -2V to +7V, and features ±6kV Human Body Model protection, making these devices ideal for harsh environments. The MAX13051 is available in an 8-pin SO package and is specified from the -40°C to +85°C and -40°C to +125°C temperature range.
