MAXIM MAX3187 Manual
The MAX3187 is a complete, dual DTE RS-232 serial port that meets the stringent ESD requirements of the European Community. All transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected to ±15kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge, ±8kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Contact Discharge, and ±15kV using the Human Body Model. The MAX3187’s six RS-232 transmitters and ten RS-232 receivers require no charge pump. Guaranteed to run at data rates up to 230kbps, the MAX3187 is optimized for desktop PC and motherboard applications, and is compatible with popular software for PC communications. Power-supply current is less than 1mA for IDD and ISS, and less than 3mA for ICC. The MAX3187 is available in a space-saving 36-pin SSOP package.
MAXIM MAX1142/1143 Manual
The MAX1142/MAX1143 are 200ksps, 14-bit ADCs. These serially interfaced ADCs connect directly to SPI™, QSPI™, and MICROWIRE™ devices without external logic. They combine an input scaling network, internal track/hold, a clock, +4.096V reference, and three general-purpose digital output pins (for external multiplexer or PGA control) in a 20-pin SSOP package. The excellent dynamic performance (SINAD ≥ 81dB), high-speed (200ksps), and low power (7.5mA) of these ADCs, make them ideal for applications such as indus- trial process control, instrumentation, and medical applications. The MAX1142 accepts input signals of 0 to +12V (unipolar) or ±12V (bipolar), while the MAX1143 accepts input signals of 0 to +4.096V (unipo- lar) or ±4.096V (bipolar). Operating from a single +4.75V to +5.25V analog supply and a +4.75V to +5.25V digital supply, power-down modes reduce cur- rent consumption to 1mA at 10ksps and further reduce supply current to less than 20µA at slower data rates. A serial strobe output (SSTRB) allows direct connection to the TMS320-family of digital signal processors. The MAX1142/MAX1143 user can select either the internal clock, or an external serial-interface clock for the ADC to perform analog-to-digital conversions. The MAX1142/MAX1143 feature internal calibration cir- cuitry to correct linearity and offset errors. On-demand calibration allows the user to optimize performance. Three user-programmable logic outputs are provided for the control of an external multiplexer or PGA.
MAXIM MAX3238E/3248E Manual(1)
MAXIM MAX3314E handbook
The MAX3314E is a ±5V powered EIA/TIA-232-compatible interface with a single transmitter and a single receiver in a flow-through architecture. The transmitter output and the receiver input are protected to ±15kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge, ±8kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Contact Discharge, and ±15kV using the Human Body Model. The transmitter has a low-dropout output stage providing minimum RS-232-compatible ±3.7V output levels while driving 3kΩ and 1000pF at 460kbps. Both +5V and -5V must be supplied externally. The MAX3314E has a SHDN function that reduces sup- ply current to 1µA. The transmitter is disabled and put into tristate while the receiver remains active. The MAX3314E is available in 8-pin µMAX, SOT23, and SO packages.
MAXIM MAX3188E/3189E Manual
The MAX3188E/MAX3189E single RS-232 transmitters in a SOT23-6 package are for space- and cost-constrained applications requiring minimal RS-232 communications. These devices consume only 150µA of supply current from ±4.5V to ±6V supplies. They feature a shutdown input that reduces current consumption to only 1µA and forces the transmitter output into a high-impedance state. RS-232 data transmission is guaranteed up to 250kbps with the MAX3188E and up to 1Mbps with the MAX3189E. The MAX3188E/MAX3189E are EIA/TIA-232 transmitters that convert CMOS/TTL logic levels to RS-232-compliant signals. The transmitter output is protected to ±15kV using the IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge method, to ±8kV using the IEC 1000-4-2 Contact Discharge method, and to ±15kV per the Human Body Model, ensuring strict compliance with international standards. The MAX3188E/MAX3189E transmitters have a standard inverting output.
MAXIM MAX3221E/3223E/3243E Manual(1)
The MAX3221E/MAX3223E/MAX3243E are 3V-powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interfaces with automatic shutdown/wakeup features, high data-rate capabilities, and enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. All transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected to ±15kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Air- Gap Discharge, to ±8kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Contact Discharge, and to ±15kV using the Human Body Model. The MAX3221E/MAX3223E/MAX3243E achieve a 1µA supply current with Maxim’s revolutionary AutoShutdown™ feature. They save power without changes to the existing BIOS or operating system by entering low-power shutdown mode when the RS-232 cable is disconnected, or when the transmitters of the connected peripherals are off. The transceivers have a proprietary low-dropout trans- mitter output stage, delivering true RS-232 performance from a +3.0V to +5.5V supply with a dual charge pump. The charge pump requires only four small 0.1µF capaci- tors for operation from a +3.3V supply. Each device is guaranteed to run at data rates of 250kbps while main- taining RS-232 output levels. The MAX3221E contains just one driver and one receiver, making it the smallest single-supply RS-232 transceiver. The MAX3223E has two drivers and two receivers. The MAX3243E is a complete 3-driver/5-receiver serial port ideal for notebook or subnotebook computers. It also includes two noninverting receiver outputs that are always active, allowing external devices to be monitored.
