MAXIM MAX1038 Evaluation Kit handbook
The MAX1038 evaluation kit is designed to evaluate the MAX1038. The MAX1038 is an 8-bit, 12-channel (six-differential-channel) ADC with a 2-wire serial interface. The MAX1038 EV kit board supports three standard 2-wire serial interface speeds: standard mode (S-Mode), fast mode (F-Mode), and high-speed mode (HS-Mode); however, the software provided with this EV kit only supports standard mode. The provided Windows 95/98® software uses the parallel (printer) port of an IBM-compatible PC to emulate a processor with a 2-wire serial interface (S-Mode). The Windows software also provides a friendly graphical user interface (GUI) to exercise the features of the MAX1038 with control buttons and pulldown menus.

MAXIM MAX101 500Msps 8-Bit ADC with Track/Hold handbook
The MAX101 is an ECL-compatible ADC with a sampling rate of 500Msps and 8-bit resolution. It accurately digitizes analog signals from DC to 250MHz (Nyquist frequency). The MAX101 is designed using Maxim's proprietary advanced bipolar processes and features a high-performance T/H amplifier and two quantizers. The innovative design of the internal T/H ensures an exceptionally wide 1.2GHz input bandwidth and aperture delay uncertainty of less than 2ps, resulting in a high 7.0 effective bits at the Nyquist frequency. Special comparator output design and decoding circuitry reduce out-of-sequence code errors. The probability of erroneous codes due to metastable states is reduced to less than 1 error per 10^15 clock cycles. Unlike other ADCs that can have errors resulting in false full-scale or zero-scale outputs, the MAX101 keeps the error magnitude to less than 1LSB. The analog input is designed for either differential or single-ended use with a ±270mV range. Sense pins for the reference input allow full-scale calibration of the input range or facilitate ratiometric use. Phase adjustment is available to optimize the relative sampling of the converter halves. Input clock phasing is also available for interleaving several MAX101s for higher effective sampling rates.
MAXIM MAX1011 handbook(1)
The MAX1011 evaluation kit (EV kit) simplifies evaluation of the 90Msps MAX1011 6-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The kit includes the basic components necessary to operate the on-chip oscillator as a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). The board can also be easily modified to accommodate an external clocking source. Connectors for power supplies, analog inputs, and digital outputs simplify connections to the device. The PC board features an optimized layout to ensure the best possible dynamic performance. The EV kit includes a MAX1011.
MAXIM MAX1011 datasheet(1)
The MAX1011 is a 6-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that combines high-speed, low-power operation with a user-selectable input range, an internal reference, and a clock oscillator. The ADC converts analog signals into binary-coded digital outputs at sampling rates up to 90Msps. The ability to directly interface with baseband signals makes the MAX1011 ideal for use in a wide range of communications and instrumentation applications. The MAX1011’s input amplifier features a true differential input, a -0.5dB analog bandwidth of 55MHz, and a user-programmable input full-scale range of 125mVp-p, 250mVp-p, or 500mVp-p. With an AC-coupled signal, input offset is typically less than 1/4LSB. Dynamic performance is 5.85 effective number of bits (ENOB) with a 20MHz analog input signal, or 5.7 ENOB with a 50MHz signal. The MAX1011 operates with +5V analog and +3.3V digital supplies for easy interfacing to +3.3V-logic-compatible digital signal processors and microprocessors. It comes in a 24-pin QSOP package.
MAXIM MAX100 handbook
The MAX100 evaluation kit (EV kit) allows high-speed digitizing of analog signals at 250Msps, using the MAX100 ADC. All circuitry required to support the ADC is supplied. Data output is available in three formats: divide-by-1, divide-by-2, or divide-by-5 mode. Clocking is provided by an external clock source input through an SMA connector. The MAX100 EV kit main board comes complete with a MAX100 high-speed, 8-bit flash ADC with strobed comparators, latched outputs, and an internal track/hold. Analog input to the board is through two SMA coaxial connectors, for use with either differential or single-ended inputs. Signals from the main board include dual-output data paths that allow easy interfacing to external circuitry. These two outputs can be configured either to provide two identical fast outputs (A and B), or an 8-to-16 demultiplexer mode that reduces the output data rates to one-half the sample clock rate. This demux is internal to the MAX100 ADC and is one of the key features of this device. A termination board with 50Ω ECL pull-down resistors is also supplied, and is connected to the main board with a 3x32 pin EURO-card connector. It provides access to the converter output data and provides proper ECL data termination. In addition to the pull-down resistors, this board has two ranks of square pins, each providing eight differential data outputs plus clock outputs. Either AData or BData may be observed with a high-speed logic
