MAX328/MA329 are monolithic CMOS analog multi-plexers. The MAX328 is a single-ended, 1-of-8 device, and the MAX329 is a differential, 2-of-8 device. Designed to provide the lowest possible on- and off- leakages, these multiplexers switch signals from high source impedance, providing the mux operates into a high-input-impedance op amp or A/D converter. The MAX328/MAX329 are pin-for-pin replacements for the popular DG508/DG509 in these applications. Adding an external 40kΩ resistor to each input makes the MAX328/MAX329 an excellent fault-tolerant multi- plexer. Low leakage (less than 1pA at +25°C) and 2.5kΩ on-resistance allow the circuit to sustain 110V AC faults indefinitely while maintaining an error of less than 40nV for normal signals (i.e., 1pA times 40kΩ). The MAX328/MAX329 work equally well with a single supply of 10V to 30V or dual supplies of ±5V to ±18V. They also perform well with unbalanced combinations of supply voltage, such as +12V and -5V or +5V and -15V. Low power dissipation (1.9mW with ±15V supplies) allows use in portable applications.

The MAX6381–MAX6390 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits monitor power supply voltages from +1.8V to +5.0V while consuming only 3µA of supply current at +1.8V. Whenever VCC falls below the factory-set reset thresholds, the reset output asserts and remains assert- ed for a minimum reset timeout period after VCC rises above the reset threshold. Reset thresholds are available from +1.58V to +4.63V, in approximately 100mV incre- ments. Seven minimum reset timeout delays ranging from 1ms to 1200ms are available. The MAX6381/MAX6384/MAX6387 have a push-pull active-low reset output. The MAX6382/MAX6385/ MAX6388 have a push-pull active-high reset output, and the MAX6383/MAX6386/MAX6389/MAX6390 have an open-drain active-low reset output. The MAX6384/MAX6385/MAX6386 also feature a debounced manual reset input (with internal pullup resistor). The MAX6387/MAX6388/MAX6389 have an auxiliary input for monitoring a second voltage. The MAX6390 offers a manual reset input with a longer VCC reset timeout period (1120ms or 1200ms) and a shorter manual reset timeout (140ms or 150ms). The MAX6381/MAX6382/MAX6383 are available in 3-pin SC70 packages and the MAX6384–MAX6390 are avail- able in 4-pin SC70 packages.

The MAX1191 is an ultra-low-power, dual, 8-bit, 7.5Msps analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The device features two fully differential wideband track-and-hold (T/H) inputs. These inputs have a 440MHz bandwidth and accept fully differential or single-ended signals. The MAX1191 delivers a typical signal-to-noise and distortion (SINAD) of 48.6dB at an input frequency of 1.875MHz and a sampling rate of 7.5Msps while consuming only 12mW. This ADC operates from a 2.7V to 3.6V analog power supply. A separate 1.8V to 3.6V supply powers the digital output driver. In addition to ultra-low operating power, the MAX1191 features three power-down modes to conserve power during idle periods. Excellent dynamic performance, ultra-low power, and small size make the MAX1191 ideal for applications in imaging, instrumentation, and digital communications. An internal 1.024V precision bandgap reference sets the full-scale range of the ADC to ±0.512V. A flexible reference structure allows the MAX1191 to use its internal reference or accept an externally applied reference for applications requiring increased accuracy. The MAX1191 features parallel, multiplexed, CMOS-compatible tri-state outputs. The digital output format is offset binary. The MAX6340/MAX6421-MAX6426 are low-power micro-processor supervisor circuits that monitor system voltages from 1.6V to 5V. These devices perform a single function: they assert a reset signal whenever the VCC supply voltage falls below its reset threshold. The reset output remains asserted for the reset timeout period after VCC rises above the reset threshold. The reset timeout is externally set by a capacitor to provide more flexibility. The MAX6421/MAX6424 have an active-low, push-pull reset output. The MAX6422 has an active-high, push-pull reset output and the MAX6340/MAX6423/MAX6425/MAX6426 have an active-low, open-drain reset output. The MAX6421/MAX6422/MAX6423 are offered in 4-pin SC70 or SOT143 packages. The MAX6340/MAX6424/MAX6425/MAX6426 are available in 5-pin SOT23-5 packages.

The MAX6870/MAX6871 EEPROM-configurable, multi-voltage supply sequencers/supervisors monitor several voltage detector inputs, two auxiliary inputs, and four general-purpose logic inputs.

The MAX7378 is a dual-speed silicon oscillator that replaces ceramic resonators, crystals, crystal-oscillator modules, and discrete reset circuits. It provides the primary and secondary clock source and reset function for microcontrollers in 3V, 3.3V, and 5V applications. The MAX7378 features a factory-programmed high-speed oscillator, a 32.768kHz oscillator, a clock selector input, and a microprocessor (µP) power-on-reset (POR) supervisor. The clock output can be switched at any time between the high-speed clock and the 32.768kHz clock for low-power operation. Switchover is synchronized internally to provide glitch-free clock switching. Unlike typical crystal and ceramic resonator oscillator circuits, the MAX7378 is resistant to vibration and EMI. The high-output-drive current and absence of high-impedance nodes make the oscillator less susceptible to dirty or humid operating conditions. With a wide operating temperature range as standard, the MAX7378 is a good choice for demanding home appliance, industrial, and automotive environments. The MAX7378 is available in an 8-pin µMAX package. Refer to the MAX7384 data sheet for frequencies ≥10MHz. The MAX7378 standard operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C. The MAX4620/MAX4630/MAX4640 are low-voltage, high-ESD-protected, quad, single-pole/single-throw (SPST) analog switches that can replace the industry-standard 74HC4066 analog switch. The switches are protected against ±15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) without latchup or damage. Each switch can handle Rail-to-Rail® analog signals and is suitable for low-distortion audio applications and current switching in automated test equipment. The switches have low power requirements, small board space, and higher reliability compared to mechanical relays. They operate from a +2V to +12V single supply, making them ideal for battery-powered applications. The switches have a maximum on-resistance of 70Ω, matched between switches to 0.5Ω (typ), and flat (2Ω(typ)) over the specified signal range. The MAX4620 has four normally open (NO) switches, the MAX4630 has four normally closed (NC) switches, and the MAX4640 has two NO and two NC switches.

The MAX2648 evaluation kit (EV kit) simplifies the evaluation of the MAX2648 5GHz low-noise amplifier. It enables testing of the device’s performance and requires no additional support circuitry. All inputs and outputs use SMA connectors to facilitate easy connection of RF test.

The MAX8863T/S/R and MAX8864T/S/R are low-dropout linear regulators that operate from a +2.5V to +6.5V input range and deliver up to 120mA. These devices feature a PMOS pass transistor, allowing the low, 80µA supply current to remain independent of the load, making them ideal for battery-operated portable equipment such as cellular phones, cordless phones, and modems. The devices offer Dual Mode™ operation, with the output voltage preset at 3.15V for the T versions, 2.84V for the S versions, or 2.80V for the R versions, or adjustable with an external resistor divider. Additional features include low-power shutdown, short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown protection, and reverse battery protection. The MAX8864 also includes an auto-discharge function, which actively discharges the output voltage to ground when the device is placed in shutdown mode. Both devices come in a miniature 5-pin SOT23-5 package.

The MAX1932 is a low-noise, high-voltage output analog integrated circuit used to bias avalanche photodiodes (APDs) in optical receivers. The chip uses a constant-frequency, pulse-width modulated (PWM) boost topology combined with a unique architecture that maintains regulation with an optional RC or LC post filter inside its feedback loop, achieving very low output ripple and noise. The MAX1932 also integrates a precision reference voltage and error amplifier to maintain 0.5% output voltage accuracy. The MAX1932 protects expensive APDs against adverse operating conditions while providing optimal bias. Traditional boost converters measure switch current for protection, whereas the MAX1932 integrates accurate high-side current limiting to protect APDs under avalanche conditions. A current-limit flag allows easy calibration of the APD operating point by indicating the precise point of avalanche breakdown. The MAX1932 control scheme prevents output overshoot and undershoot to provide safe APD operation without data loss. The output voltage can be accurately set with either external resistors, an internal 8-bit DAC, an external DAC, or other voltage source. Output span and offset are independently settable with external resistors. This optimizes the utilization of DAC resolution for applications that may require limited output voltage range, such as 4.5V to 15V, 4.5V to 45V, 20V to 60V, or 40V to 90V.
