The Goldline GL-235 Solar Pool Controller Installation & Operation Manual provides wiring, mounting, setup, and troubleshooting instructions for residential…
This manual explains how to install and operate the Goldline GL-235 solar pool controller. It covers mounting the unit, connecting power, grounding, wiring the low‑voltage solar valve, and configuring high‑voltage outputs for booster pumps or timer overrides. Detailed sensor mounting, freeze‑protection, and nocturnal‑cooling options are also described.
The guide includes wiring diagrams, jumper settings for 12 VAC or 24 VAC valve actuation, and step‑by‑step troubleshooting procedures for power, sensor, and valve faults. Warranty information and safety warnings are provided at the beginning of the document.
| Power input voltage | 105‑130 VAC, .5 A 50/60 Hz or 195‑250 VAC, .3 A 50/60 Hz |
|---|---|
| Selectable low‑voltage output | 24 VAC, 20 VA, .85 A or 12 VAC, 20 VA, 1.7 A |
| High‑voltage output rating | 115 VAC 1 HP or 240 VAC 2 HP |
| Sensors required | Two 10 kΩ thermistor sensors (10 kΩ @ 25 °C) |
| Differential temperature control | On at 4 °F, off at 1.5 °F |
| Desired pool temperature range | 70‑104 °F |
| Recirculate freeze protection activation | On below 40 °F, off above 42 °F |
Mount the box vertically with the knockouts facing downward, keep it at least 5 feet away from the pool or spa, turn off power at the circuit breaker, remove the internal panel, and follow the wiring diagram for power and sensor connections.
Install the jumper across both pins marked “RECIRC” on the main circuit board and optionally wire GC‑3 freeze snap switches in series with the collector sensor.
The controller can be powered from either 115 VAC or 240 VAC input.
Move jumper J4 on the right side of the circuit board to select the 12 VAC output.
