This document is about the use of LTC3873. It introduces the features and characteristics of the chip, as well as the application circuit design.
This guide explains how to set up and test the LTC3873-based DC1154 demonstration circuit, which converts 36V to 72V input to a 3.3V output with 3A current. It includes setup steps, measurement procedures, and safety notes for evaluating performance.
The circuit is designed for telecom, automotive, and PoE applications and can be modified for different output voltages up to 15V, with output power limited to 10W. Design files are available from Linear Technology.
The input voltage must not exceed 72V.
The converter provides an isolated 3A of output current at 3.3V.
The output power must be limited to no more than 10W.
