About this manual

This manual provides instructions for developers creating modules to fit into the RS-EDP platform. It details the design considerations for both CPU Modules (CM) and Application Modules (AM), covering operating voltages, grounding arrangements, analogue references, reset management, battery backup, and various communication interfaces including UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and USB.

Frequently asked questions

What operating voltages are supported on the RS-EDP platform?

There are currently two voltages supported on the platform, a 5.0V one and a 3.3V one.

How is the system operating voltage determined?

The 'Command Module' dictates whether the whole system is a 3.3V one or a 5.0V one.

What signal indicates the operating voltage of the CPU?

The user can check the Vcc_CM signal on the break out connector on the Base Board to determine what voltage the system is.
