This document introduces the basic information of EDP-CM-mbed Adapter Board, including MCU pin allocation, backplane resource usage, I/O pin list, backplane signal names and connections, and mapping aid
The RS-EDP-CM-mbed adapter module is designed to connect the mbed development module to the RS-EDP platform. It acts as the Command Module (CM) for the system, dictating the voltage level (3.3V) and remapping the mbed's I/O pins to the RS-EDP backplane. The board allows users to utilize the mbed module's ARM7-based microprocessor within the RS-EDP system without requiring a full C compiler installation on the host machine.
The adapter board features several additional interfaces beyond simple pin remapping. It includes a mini SD Card interface and an SPI serial connection for a small graphics LCD. The board also provides extensive link options and solder jumpers to configure various signal mappings, including support for analogue, digital I/O, communications, and motor drive modules.
