Analog Devices AD9547 Dual/Quad Input Network Clock Generator/Synchronizer Data Sheet

AD9547 is a dual/quad input network clock generator/synchronizer that supports Stratum 2 stability in holdover mode and reference switchover with phase build-out. It also supports hitless reference switchover, automatic/manual holdover and reference switchover. The product features include configurable input reference pins, reference validation and frequency monitoring, programmable input reference switchover priority, clock output pins, programmable feedback divider, digital loop filter, and optional LC-VCO system clock multiplier and crystal resonator for system clock input. It is suitable for network synchronization, reference clock jitter cleanup, SONET/SDH clocks, etc.

About this manual

The AD9547 is a synchronization device designed for systems including synchronous optical networks (SONET/SDH). It generates an output clock synchronized to one of two differential or four single-ended external input references. The integrated digital PLL reduces input time jitter or phase noise associated with these external references.

Even when all reference inputs fail, the AD9547 continuously generates a clean, valid output clock using digitally controlled loop and holdover circuitry. It operates over an industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C and is available in a 64-lead LFCSP package.
