This document describes how to use and configure the PLM smartplug demonstration board, as well as provides a detailed description of its hardware components. The demonstration board is based on the STM32F103CB microcontroller, the ST7540 PLM module, and the STPM01 mono-phase energy metering IC. It allows monitoring the energy consumption of a mains plug and controlling any kind of load through a relay. The board can send voltage, current, power, active energy, and output status to a PLM data concentrator via a power line communication network. A specific cabling scheme is required to control a load supplied by the monitored mains plug.
