This application note introduces how to configure the PLM smartplug demonstration board and how to use it in a network with other smartplug boards and a data concentrator.
This document serves as a guide to getting started with the PLM smartplug demonstration board (STEVAL-IHP002V1). It details how to configure the board, interact with its hardware components such as buttons and LEDs, and utilize the power line communication (PLC) features. The board is based on the STM32F103VE microcontroller, the ST7540 PLM module, and the STPM01 energy metering IC.
| Microcontroller | STM32F103VE |
|---|---|
| PLM Module | ST7540 |
| Energy Metering IC | STPM01 |
| PLC Data Rate | up to 4.8 kbps |
| Output Control | Relay or T2035H Triac |
The demonstration board model is STEVAL-IHP002V1.
The board is designed to monitor energy consumption of a mains plug and to control it in on/off mode by a relay or in dimming through the T2035H Triac.
The ST7540 power line modem provides connectivity up to 4.8 kbps.
The board must be used only by expert technicians and requires a mains insulation transformer for debugging or testing.
