ADI's highly integrated AD5755 data converter is a complete multichannel control integrated circuit (IC) that incorporates four precision 16-bit DACs with programmable voltage or 4 mA to 20 mA output drivers, along with dynamic power control. The dynamic power control feature works by continually sensing the load impedance and delivering only the required power to the load, thus minimizing power loss in the rest of the system. This feature reduces self-heating and temperature elevation in dense, multichannel system racks. The unparalleled combination of features and performance found in the AD5755 enables up to 4× more terminals at twice the performance in a single analog I/O module. Compared to other driver technologies available today, the AD5755 lowers power consumption by up to 80% and net thermal rise (silicon temperature minus ambient temperature) by 75%. The 16-bit AD5755 offers a full-channel specification with a maximum total unadjusted error of 0.05% and a relative accuracy of ±0.003% max and does not require system calibration, which shortens development time and reduces system maintenance costs.
