This datasheet introduces the features and characteristics of MOC3051M and MOC3052M, including excellent IFT stability, high isolation voltage, Underwriters Laboratory (UL) certification, 600V peak blocking voltage, etc.
This document is a datasheet for the Fairchild Semiconductor MOC3051M and MOC3052M, which are 6-Pin DIP Random-Phase Optoisolators and Triac Drivers. These devices feature an AlGaAs infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a non-zero-crossing silicon bilateral AC switch (triac). They are designed to provide random phase control of high current triacs or thyristors, isolating low voltage logic from 115 and 240 Vac lines.
| Peak Blocking Voltage | 600 V |
|---|---|
| Isolation Surge Voltage | 7500 Vac(pk) |
| Operating Temperature | -40 to +85 °C |
| LED Trigger Current (MOC3051M) | 15 mA |
| LED Trigger Current (MOC3052M) | 10 mA |
| Isolation Resistance | 10^9 Ω |
These devices are suitable for solenoid/valve controls, lamp ballasts, static AC power switches, interfacing microprocessors to AC peripherals, solid state relays, incandescent lamp dimmers, temperature controls, and motor controls.
The devices have a minimum isolation voltage of 7500 peak VAC.
The critical rate of rise of off-state voltage is 1000 V/µs.
