This document is an owner’s manual for Research Products Corporation Aprilaire® dehumidifiers that includes safety & operating instructions and warranty information. The dehumidifier is warranted for five (5) years from date of installation to be free from defects in materials or workmanship.
The Aprilaire Model 1700 dehumidifier is designed to maintain acceptable humidity levels in a home by gathering data from the HVAC system and measuring indoor air conditions. It features an integrated air cycling capability to balance indoor conditions and can operate an optional ventilation damper to introduce outside air when appropriate.

Under normal circumstances, the filter should be cleaned or replaced once a year.
The damper opens whenever air cycling is active, provided the outside temperature is between 20°F and 100°F.
Most installations should be initially set to the '3' or 'NORMAL' setting.
