This data sheet provides detailed information on the Philips Semiconductors SAA3500H digital audio broadcast channel decoder, including support for DAB transmission modes I, II, III and IV, and an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
The Philips SAA3500H is an integrated Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) channel decoder designed according to ETSI specification ETS 300 401. It functions as a successor to the FADIC and SIVIC chip sets, providing an on-chip Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), digital mixer with Automatic Frequency Control (AFC) and Automatic Gain Control (AGC), and full DAB ensemble demodulation and decoding capabilities.
The device supports dynamic multiplex reconfiguration and offers equal or unequal error protection for up to 64 sub-channels. It includes interfaces for microcontrollers via I2C-bus or L3-bus, as well as serial outputs for receiver data and simple full capacity output.
