About this manual

The SN54ABT16543 and SN74ABT16543 are 16-bit registered transceivers containing two sets of D-type latches for temporary storage of data flowing in either direction. These devices can be used as two 8-bit transceivers or one 16-bit transceiver. They feature separate latch-enable and output-enable inputs for each register to permit independent control of data flow direction.

The devices utilize a state-of-the-art EPIC-IIB BiCMOS design to significantly reduce power dissipation. They offer high-drive outputs and are available in multiple package options, including plastic shrink small-outline (DL), thin shrink small-outline (DGG), and fine-pitch ceramic flat (WD) packages. The SN54ABT16543 is characterized for military temperature ranges, while the SN74ABT16543 is characterized for commercial temperature ranges.
