ADM1034 is a temperature monitor and fan speed controller from Analog Devices. It supports SMBus 2.0, 1.1 and 1.0 protocols and can be managed through SMBus. The product has 1 local temperature channel and 2 remote temperature channels, which can measure ±1°C temperature and support fast measurement (up to 64 measurements per second). ADM1034 also supports over temperature, under temperature and other fault alarms, and can output SMBusALERT. In addition, the product also provides fan speed control function, which can control fan speed through temperature-fan speed lookup table.
The ADM1034 is a thermal monitor and fan speed (RPM) controller designed for desktop and notebook PCs, embedded systems, telecommunications equipment, and LCD projectors. It functions as a dual-channel remote- and local-temperature sensor, monitoring two remote thermal diodes and its own ambient temperature with +1°C accuracy.
The device controls the speed of two cooling fans using either a programmable target speed or a look-up table configured for discrete speeds or linear ramping. Communication occurs over a 2-wire SMBus 2.0 interface, which supports address input via LOCATION and includes features like an ALERT output for error conditions and fail-safe overtemperature comparators.
