This document is the datasheet of Analog Devices' ADM1031 Intelligent Temperature Monitor and Dual PWM Fan Controller, which mainly introduces the functions and features of the product
The Analog Devices ADM1031 is an ACPI-compliant three-channel digital thermometer and under/over temperature alarm designed for use in personal computers and thermal management systems. Optimized for Pentium III processors, it offers higher 1°C accuracy to allow system designers to safely reduce temperature guardbanding.
The device features two Pulsewidth Modulated (PWM) Fan Control outputs that control fan speed by varying the output duty cycle between 33% and 100%. It includes a dedicated Fan Speed Control Loop for operation independent of CPU intervention, ensuring fans continue to operate correctly even if the system locks up. The ADM1031 supports two remote temperature-sensing diodes with an accuracy of ±1°C and an on-chip sensor.
