AD1849K is a serial-port 16-bit SoundPort® stereo codec with features including multiple channels of stereo input and output, digital signal mixing, on-chip speaker and headphone drive capability, programmable gain and attenuation, etc.
The AD1849K SoundPort Stereo Codec integrates ADC, DAC, programmable gain, and mixing functions in a single 44‑lead PLCC package. It operates from a 5 V supply (or mixed 5 V/3.3 V) and supports sample rates from 5.5 kHz up to 48 kHz.
The device provides two stereo line‑level outputs, a headphone output, and a mono speaker output, each with independent attenuation. It includes on‑chip Σ∆ converters, digital interpolation/decimation filters, and supports linear PCM, µ‑law and A‑law data formats.
| Operating Supply Voltage | 5 V (5 V ± 0.25 V range) |
|---|---|
| Sample Rate Range | 5.5 kHz – 48 kHz |
| ADC Resolution | 16 bits |
| DAC Resolution | 16 bits |
| ADC Dynamic Range | 74 dB – 83 dB |
The device operates from 4.75 V to 5.25 V on both analog and digital supplies.
It supports sample rates from 5.5 kHz up to 48 kHz, selectable via external crystals or the serial interface.
Both the analog‑to‑digital and digital‑to‑analog converters have 16‑bit resolution.
