SMSC SIO1000 is a super I/O product with LPC interface, FIR and consumer IR support.
The SIO1000 Super I/O controller provides a 64‑pin STQFP package that integrates a full‑function serial port, a 16C550A‑compatible UART with 16‑byte FIFO, and a multi‑mode parallel port supporting IBM PC/XT, PC/AT, PS/2, EPP and ECP standards. It includes 14 GPIO pins, two IRQ input pins, and configurable I/O address, IRQ and DMA options.
The device also features two infrared ports: one IrDA v1.2 (4 Mbps) with HPSIR and ASKIR support, and a consumer‑IR port compatible with NEC PPM and Phillips RC5. Power management functions include ACPI 2.0 compliance and intelligent auto‑power management, while the LPC bus host interface offers 8‑bit I/O and DMA transfers and PCI CLKRUN# support.
