The TLP1201A, TLP1201A(C1) and TLP120A(C2) are digital output photointerrupters that combine a GaAs infrared LED with a high‑sensitivity Si photo‑IC. They are used in copying machines, laser printers, facsimile, vending machines, banking terminals and other position‑detection applications. The output goes high when the light beam is blocked.
Key specifications include a 5 V supply, low‑current consumption (typical 17.5 mA max), 5 mm sensing gap, 0.5 mm slit width and operation from –25 °C to 75 °C. The device is housed in polycarbonate and offered with several connector types (EI series, Molex low‑profile, NH solderless). Precautions cover a 100 s stabilization period after power‑on, torque specifications for mounting screws, and chemicals to avoid with the polycarbonate housing.
