CSE 16 is a passive touch switch triggered by a capacitive sensor. It has no mechanical parts, so it will not fail due to wear, damage, freezing or sticking, and has a much longer life than comparable mechanical solutions. It is available with different colored ring lighting.
The CSE 16 (Capacitive Switch Element M16) is an illuminated capacitive switch that can be configured as a momentary switch, a latching switch or a pulse‑mode switch. Activation is achieved by simply touching the surface, and the device contains no mechanical parts, giving it a very long mechanical lifetime.
The housing is made of anodized aluminium and is mounted to a front panel with an M16x1 hex nut and an O‑seal ring. The datasheet provides mechanical, electrical, climatic and packaging data, including supply voltage ranges, current consumption, switching current, rated breaking capacity and IP67 protection. This manual is written in German.
| Mechanical lifetime | 2 million actuations |
|---|---|
| Supply voltage | +75 … 424 V |
| Switching current | 175 mA |
| Rated breaking capacity | 250 mW |
| Operating temperature | -20 °C … 485 °C |
| Degree of protection | IP67 |
The CSE 16 can be set up as a momentary switch, a latching (toggle) switch, or a pulse‑mode switch.
It is fixed to the front panel with an M16x1 hex nut and an O‑seal ring to keep the assembly sealed.
The device can operate from –20 °C up to 485 °C.
It accepts a supply voltage between +75 V and 424 V.
