The LM2575/LM2575/LM2575HV SIMPLE SWITCHER® 1A Step-Down Voltage Regulator is a high-efficiency, monolithic integrated circuit that provides all the active functions for a step-down (buck) switching regulator. It is available in fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and an adjustable output version, and can drive a 1A load with excellent line and load regulation.
The LM2575 series are monolithic integrated circuits that implement a step‑down (buck) switching regulator capable of delivering up to 1 A load current with excellent line and load regulation. Fixed‑output versions are available at 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, and 15 V, plus an adjustable version covering 1.23 V to 37 V (57 V for the HV version). The devices require only four external components and include an internal frequency‑compensated 52 kHz oscillator.
The family is offered in a variety of packages (TO‑220, TO‑263, DIP, surface‑mount, and ceramic DIP) with detailed ordering numbers. Electrical characteristics such as input voltage range, output current, efficiency, thermal resistance, and standby current are listed, along with typical application circuits and performance graphs.
| Maximum Input Voltage (LM2575) | 45 V |
|---|---|
| Output Current | 1 A |
| Standby Shutdown Current | 50 µA (typical) |
| Oscillator Frequency | ≈52 kHz |
| Efficiency (12 V in, 1 A out) | ≈75 % |
The shutdown feature draws about 50 µA typical standby current.
They use a fixed internal oscillator at approximately 52 kHz.
